City West Campus was a hub of activity, as athletes, team managers and volunteers enjoyed the UniSA uniforms Launch Party for the Australian University Games.
The crowd was treated to live music, a runway modeling show of the athlete’s uniforms, as well as an inspiring address from Deputy Vice Chancellor Pal Ahluwalia.
Mr Ahluwalia says, “there are so many outside classroom skills students can learn and sport is a great metaphor for success.”
Mr Ahluwalia applauded those bold enough to step outside the classroom and realise there’s more to university than studying and working.
John Behrend who is studying a Masters of Architecture is competing in his third Australian University Games.
He says, “the Uni Games has become an excellent excuse for procrastination.”
Trying on his tracksuit for the first time, Mr Behrend says, “it was great UniSA splashed out and got us tracksuits this year.”
Marketing student John Robinson is competing in field hockey this year.
He says, “the uniforms feel sick…my ego went up a little bit just putting on the uniform’s today.”
This Australian University Games are set to be the best ever.
