Deteriorating Beauty (2018)?is a symbolic portrayal of ingratitude.
By caring less for the smaller things in our lives, slowly, they become neglected and fade away into nothing—as they turn into things we take for granted, they progressively deteriorate and disappear.
With its advanced focal point of a realistic rose, its wilted position reflects this notion of being rejected and consequently forgotten. Representing the death of the beautiful things in life, my symbolic colours: yellow (symbolising admiration and dedication) and orange (symbolising passion and energy portraying the intensity of life) deepen my meaning of loss of life, beauty and passion.
