Book: The Witch’s Trinity
Author: Erika Mailman
Erika Mailman draws on her own family history to tell a fictional, though utterly believable, story about the trials of witchcraft in the early 16th century.
The Witch’s Trinity follows the life of Güde, an elderly woman living in a village stricken with famine. A wealthy friar visits the town and blames the poor harvests on witchery. Desperation drives friend and neighbour apart and Güde fears she will be accused next.
Vivid descriptions and an interesting take on an old story make this novel a particularly good read.
