Have you ever wondered what events in history have defined the world as it is today? World History: 50 Key Milestones You Really Need To Know, written by Ian Crofton, encapsulates in a brief 207 pages, fifty of the most significant events that have shaped our lives. From the “Beginnings of Agriculture” to “9/11 and After”, this book covers almost everything that lies in between in a clear and concise style. The continuous detailed timeline that runs throughout the book is quite informative, and useful for a quick reference, while the fascinating fun fact boxes and the contemporaneous quotations make the reading enjoyable and entertaining. Whether you are a history buff or just someone looking to expand their knowledge, World History makes an excellent light read, and a great quick reference book, for everyone. However, as it provides only brief glimpses into history, it shouldn’t be seen as a complete history book. Rather, it should be used as a springboard for inspiration and further research.
