The official UniSA student magazine, UniLifeMag, is currently advertising for a new team of editorial staff for 2011.
UniLifeMag publishes every two weeks on all UniSA campuses, and is the only student magazine distributed. Every edition has a readership of around 35,000. UniLifeMag covers issues relevant to students and the wider community, along with student culture, music, movies, and whatever else interests students.
There are several leadership positions available including Head Editor, Head Editor – Website, and Chief of Staff. All roles are salaried.
The successful applicants will have the opportunity to run a large (some editions print as many as 7000 copies) magazine that is distributed on all UniSA campuses.
Responsibilities include:
– Setting the editorial vision of the magazine (including website and graphics design)
– Managing the creation process from writing, through to proof reading, printing and distribution
– Selecting content and assigning writers
– Managing budgets
– Leading and managing a small team
– Selling advertising
– Marketing the magazine to the student body
Experience as an editor at UniLifeMag is very highly regarded amongst industry. The last editor of the magazine, Aaron McDonald, was employed by the Advertiser straight out of uni, on the strength of his experience at UniLifeMag.
